Solar Power Plant at a Cement Plant – 1 MW
1 MWp
Germany
RAWICOM completed the project for its partner, Outarky, acting as the General Subcontractor at a cement plant in Hilgenroth, Germany.
The scope of work included the comprehensive construction of the photovoltaic farm – installation using the TreeSystem mounting system, construction of the supporting structure for the photovoltaic panels, installation of modules and inverters, as well as the installation of cable routes.
Project parameters
- Installed capacity: 998.82 kWp
- Number of modules: 1,978
- Mounting system: TreeSystem – root system
- Location: cement plant in Hilgenroth, Germany
Photovoltaics for the cement industry
The installation was designed to generate electricity for an energy-intensive industrial facility. The in-house photovoltaic farm enables solar energy to cover part of the cement plant’s electricity demand, thereby reducing the need to purchase electricity from the grid.
A popular solution for zero-export projects is also the installation of an energy storage system, which can significantly increase the savings generated by solar energy and provide greater flexibility for the overall energy system of a manufacturing facility.
